Have you heard of this relatively unknown stealth traffic tactic? Many niche marketing experts have been using it to create small and instant incomes every time they penetrate a new niche.

Using this tactic, it takes just a few minutes to switch on instant targeted traffic to your site.

The only cost is the $10 or so that it takes to register a domain name.

The tactic is purchasing expired domain names that have an existing flow of traffic flowing into them. The amount of traffic could be anywhere from ten to ten thousand unique visitors per day and this article will help you understand the basics of purchasing expired domains, some of the issues involved and the simple business models you can use to profit from this potent opportunity starting today.

The Expired Domain Free Traffic Loophole

I love loopholes. That’s exactly what buying expired domain names is – a big traffic loophole. It works because over time a domain has been built up and a mixture of time, money and know-how have been ploughed into it. As a result, it draws in a good amount of traffic.

But now, for whatever reason, that domain has expired. Where once there may have been a thriving website pulling income in from various sources, it no longer exists. And it’s up for grabs to the first person who recognizes what a potential goldmine it is.

Some expired domains, the highly valuable ones, have a huge blaze of traffic flowing into it on a daily basis. This tends to be because the domain has hundreds, if not thousands of backlinks as well as high search engine placement. Some are listed in the Yahoo and DMOZ indexes.

This means that if you can isolate domain names with high amounts of incoming traffic, you’ve just acquired a living, breathing potential online business for just a few paltry dollars (the cost of a domain name). You can then put together a simple model to start earning from this bustling traffic immediately using a mixture of contextual advertising, affiliate links and more. You could also find expired domains that are related to your existing sites and products and immediately redirect the traffic to your existing business model. There are certainly no shortage of ways to create positive results using expired domains.

Why Domain Names Expire

There are many reasons why domain names can sometimes be let go of. Here are a couple of examples:

People move on. They find other business opportunities which they plough themselves into.

The business that had registered and used the domain no longer exists.
How Domains Slip Into Expired Status (And How Long You Have To Wait Before Snapping Them Up)

Domain expiry doesn’t work quite like most people think. A domain doesn’t just plop out of the previous owners hands on the expiration date. Instead, once a domain name passes this date, it enters a static period of 40 days during which the original owner can still re-register it. After this period, the domain then switches to another phase (lasting a further 35 days) whereby the owner can still re-register it (for a significantly higher fee than before). It’s after this period that the general public can then get their hands on these expired domains.

How To Plug In Simple Business Models To Start Generating Immediate Profits From Expired Domain Profits.

Once you have a domain that has an incoming stream of profit from it, it’s fairly simple to start generating an income from it immediately.

If you already have a successful model that is profitable, just redirect the traffic to it (assuming it is within the same niche).

If you’ve chosen a domain name that is new, here’s a simple way of creating an income from it:

Create some content on the domain name subject. One to five pages of content is more than enough, but it must be highly useful to the reader.

Find some targeted affiliate programs – use Commission Junction or Clickbank to find them, and enter your affiliate links tastefully.

Add in your Adsense codes – to optimize your Adsense income make sure you’re using the maximum number of ad units (3) and that your ads have the same look and feel of the page & text content.

Create an opt-in form to capture the email address of your traffic. Your aim should be to convert as much targeted traffic into opt-in subscribers as possible – this way you can approach your new subscribers with additional back-end offers (this is where the real money lies).

So there you have it – a simple way of buying up expired domain names that come with existing traffic flows, and a simple business model to use that flow for maximum profits.

Steps To Set Yourself Apart From Other Affiliates

Considered today as one of the best and easiest way to earn some money, affiliate marketing is now attracting many people to represent themselves in this type of business. But as competition is getting a bit bigger, you may need some ways to distinguish yourself from the rest of the affiliate marketers. For the major reason that many of your competitors including you are promoting the exact same program, in the exact same zone or on the exact same websites perhaps.  Now here are some tips that you may consider in order for you to stay in this business and have the chance to outwit and outplay other competitors of yours.

The first step is for you to have your own website. It is very essential for you to have your own website in considering affiliate marketing as your professional career. Secondly, potential customers primarily go to websites in order for them to search and sometimes purchase items they were looking for. For the same reason that it is much easier to remember than a certain URL that you may be using and you can just point to your visitors the affiliate page in your website.

Step two remember to have your own ad. A lot of times affiliates marketers have published the same ad two or three times done by advertisers. In this case, you may email the owner of your affiliate program asking that you make your own ads. This way, people may not become immune to ads, because sometimes seeing the same ads over and over again, may just make your potential customers to just skip it all together.  Besides, your primarily purpose is to attract or encourage people to click and read your ads and be curios enough to click through your website.

Step three, have some products of your won which are only available through your website. Once you have your website going, it is important to have some products or services that your customers can’t find with other affiliate’s site. You want your customers to keep coming to your site and the best way to do that is to have something on your site that they can’t find on others. Being an affiliate marketer we must then choose a certain market segment where you can have a potential leadership or at least a strong challenger role.

The fourth step is to build a strong relationship with people who already buy your product. Now, in order for you as the marketer to fully answer the query of your potential customers, it is best to try and buy the product by yourself. With this particular notion, you can better sell the product that you are trying to market. You can share to your potential customers what a great experience you had with the product, and this can make them interested enough to buy the product. You may also be able to provide a support if necessary or you may provide a confident tutorial or steps on how to use the product that you are trying to market based on your personal experience. Entailing this idea is to be totally honest about the product that you are trying to market. If you find out that the program you were promoting is a scam, stop promoting it and inform your readers about it. This will help you build credibility with your lists.

We all make mistakes and admitting your mistake will boost your reader’s confidence in you. Lastly, don’t try to market everything you see. With services such as click bank, it is easy to become overwhelmed and try to market everything in the click bank marketplace. That is not a good idea. It’s better to focus on one market and market products that they would want. This is called niche marketing.

Try also to promote a certain product, which conforms to the specifications measured through indications of customer-satisfaction, rather than indicators of self-gratification. It is the customer who decides what to buy and not the company or the affiliate marketer. The company simply produces products catering to the needs and wants of their chosen market segment.

Today, different types of business are emerging from all over the world in a multinational level to reign supreme on their specific market segment that they are trying to dominate, and affiliate marketing is one of them. Affiliate marketing is definitely here to stay and it can become a great way to earn extra or even part time income. However, it won’t happen overnight. Like everything else in life, you’re going to have to put a lot of hard work into it. Good luck to you in your new venture.

The Keys to Finding Niche Internet Markets

Finding an internet market is easy. Finding a niche internet market that is PROFITABLE can be a bit more difficult, but actually quite simple when you understand what you are doing. The world of internet marketing and niche marketing is so vast that over 90% of internet marketers spend weeks and even months on the wrong market, only to find out after great investments of time and money, that there is nothing profitable to be made. So pay close attention as I reveal the secrets to finding a niche internet market to profit from.

There are thousands of ways to find your own niche internet market. Search some popular keywords using popular search engines such as google, yahoo, and msn, get a feel for what other people are doing on the web. You could also always get to a Barnes & Noble or library looking for some common applicable book genres. Personally, I’ve done both of these methods when I first began developing my own internet marketing campaign, and these were the most time consuming and inefficient appropriation of funds i’ve ever experienced. People have said to “go for a market you have passion about”. Well that will get you just about no where, because if something is popular or personal to you, it still may not sell well at all. And that is the whole point of getting into the internet market, to sell.

I use 2 powerful tools to find wealth building niche internet markets that you may have never seen before.

1) Clickbank.com – The endless supplier of niche internet markets. This e-powered affiliate marketing empire contains over 10,000 information programs you can promote for strong commissions. With so many niches at your fingertips its remarkable. This is the number one place to find hot niches to promote and prosper from.

Its completely free to sign up for an account, and they pay out checks bi-weekly, the 1st and 16th of every month. Go here to sign up for free:

clickbank.com/signup

then browse the infamous clickbank marketplace. You have free reign on these programs, from topics such as home based business opportunities, make money online, sports & recreation, home & family, Society & culture, and many more. With over 10,000 legitimate business opportunities, the only trouble you’ll have is deciding how many profitable niche markets to use.

But the greatest reason to go here is this: you are not selling anything as an affiliate, and all goods are information products. What does this mean, well for one you never have to process shipments of actual packages. No hassle of the post office, shipping supplies, and annoying returns, just simple instant access information based products that created a whopping $1 trillion dollar industry last year alone.

2) Ebay.com – The cash auction machine. Ebay is one of the greatest ways to start getting into internet marketing and finding strong niche markets. This is where I personally began my online endeavors, selling all sorts of retail products, to health foods, to agricultural supplies and the money can really start to come in.

Personally, I find the selling of products so much more time consuming and un-cost effective that it would take 10 times longer to develop wealth selling tangible products as apposed to information products. But don’t get me wrong, ebay is a great place to get started and learn how to find some hot niche internet markets.

Go to ebay.com and when you get there click “all categories” or “see all categories”. From here you can begin to delve into the ebay internet marketing world, with info on what is selling and how many products are being sold in each specific category. The trick is to find something specific, so you will need to browse some major categories. Instead of sporting goods, as a broad genre, get more specific with something like “men’s tennis racquets” or “female sports attire”. Within sports, for example, you can find hundreds of niches, so imagine when browsing all categories.

Now you have some valuable information that you will find useful in your hunt for niche internet markets. Keep your options open and do research before getting involved in any program. For reviews of the webs best clickbank and ebay opportunities go to this source : http://www.TopJobsReview.com

Starting up a internet business

July 28th, 2009

First steps: choosing the business

When I was thinking about starting an internet business there were a few things that were must have requirements.

The first one was that I needed to be able to get the business to profitability for less than $1600 (£100). In practice each site has cost more than that when you figure in the marketing costs needed to get it off the ground quickly. The silk tie retailing site was set up for less than $300 but when you factor in marketing spend, then I have spent almost $800 per month on marketing, mostly Google Adwords and Overture. It is only after month three that I have got close to breaking even. Anyway, near enough and if you are more patient and make less costly mistakes than me then you should be able to do it for less.

Secondly. The business had to need as little manual work as possible. I am after a business that I can start working part time and as am a management consultant and sell my time by the hour, for me time really is money. I am also not keen on hiring people if I can avoid it. The internet has the potential to offer some really virtual businesses and I wanted to use this. For this reason as well as start-up costs this means that I do not want to stock or handle any products. I do a lot of supply chain consulting work so it was obvious to me that I could have a business that used other companies to buy, store and deliver the products. The easiest way to do this is by using dropshipping. Dropshippers are wholesalers that ship individual customer orders direct to your customers.

There is a lot of information on dropshipping online, however it has to be said that there are some terrible dropshipping companies where prices are too high or products too common to successful. Typical of these is thSelect which charges a fee to join, but once you join you find that the prices are often higher than they are being sold for on eBay and are widely sold with lots of competition. It is very hard to make good money from these sort of dropshippers. There are however some good companies out there with niche products where achievable margins are good.

The third requirement was that the business needed to have the potential to generate at least $1k per month in profit. That way with a few web businesses it could become my full time job. I decided that I was not trying to start the next Amazon, instead I was after a good profitable niche. Something not too competitive and with no house-hold names as competitors. This means that I have not gone into electronics even though it is the area I know the best, it is a very competitive market online and were competition includes Amazon and Dixons. To be successful in electronics you either need to find a niche not served by the big boys or spend serious money to get established.

I then started searching for business ideas. I read the get rich quick newsletters, internet marketing newsletters, internet business forums and drop shipping websites. I searched for dropship suppliers then when I found a product that I thought might be promising, did a search for it and checked out the competition. If after that it still looked interesting then I did a keyword search on Google AdWords to find out how many clicks I could get and at what cost.

While doing this I came across some sites selling ready-made business websites. Essentially they provide a shop template, a catalogue and a supplier of stock and off you go. These sell for between £50 ($80) and £500 ($800). I wasted a fair bit of money with a couple of false starts. I bid on a lingerie web business template on eBay with a starting price of £99; my wife was a lingerie merchandiser for Marks & Spencers and so I though she could help, then I saw a gadgets website from the same people and thought I would get that and see if I could find a gadgets niche and bid for that too. Trouble was I then did some more research and found that lingerie was very competitive online and that the supplier I would be getting had a limited selection of very tarty undies at rather high prices. I also found that the gadget supplier was the Select and as I have already said they are overpriced. I then found the tie web business and decided this was a better niche where margins really are 60% and bought that one from DpbUK who have been very good. Unfortunately no one else bid on the two on eBay and I ended up winning them although I no longer wanted them. $300 wasted. Oops. So do your homework carefully before buying; look carefully at the sample sites and try and find some clues to the suppliers, check the competition out and make sure the margins are high enough.

How To Start A Profitable Niche Marketing Business

What does niche marketing mean? Niche marketing is about finding small opportunities on the web, small areas in which people might be interested and for which they might be searching. Big companies and experienced webmasters are not interested in these areas because they are not important enough. But a small business could be something in which you might be interested.

Perhaps a small mini website will not generate thousands of dollars every month; it might generate 100 bucks, for example. That is ok, if the effort involved in terms of creating this mini website is not too high; in this way, you could repeat the same business model again and again. Taking into consideration that every small business could generate around $100 every month, with ten niches, you could earn $1.000 monthly. Does this sound better? And what if you could create 50 websites?

The first step in this kind of business is always keyword research. You need to find small markets which do not have competition. Wordtrack is a very good tool to use for finding niche opportunities. For every keyword, it tells you the number of searches and how many results are found on each search engine. You need to pay special attention to the KEI column. KEI is the index that balances the number of searches and the number of competitors. The more searches and the fewer the competitors, the better for you. A KEI higher than 10 is good, but you should, ideally, look at keywords with a KEI over 100. More than 400 is a gift.

Once you have identified your niche, you need to find content for it. Don`t worry about which product you are going to sell; this will come later. The “fuel” of any Internet business is content. So where can you find content? Well, if you are an expert in an area, you could write your own articles, but if you are not, you have to look for content somewhere else.

There are many article directories that offer a lot of content that you can use. You can also find much content just by searching the web. Use search engines, find blogs, forums, websites, etc. Last, but not least, you can always find information as in “the old times,” go to the library or buy one or two books.

After you have found enough content, it is time to register a domain name. You should choose a name that has something to do with your target market, but if your intention is to create multiple mini websites, you don’t need to register a different domain name every time. You can save money by having one global domain name, and create sub domains for each business.

The question now is, “Since everything looks good, how do I make money with these sites?” You need to follow this 3 step formula (CTM):

- Create Content
– Generate Traffic
– Monetize your website

You can build traffic by optimizing the webpage content for the search engines and by analyzing your competitors in order to build a better SEO strategy (but this is another chapter). Blogging and pinging is a way to make sure that your site will be spidered by the search engines. WordPress is a very good option for creating your blog, as it allows you to post, not only articles, but pages. You can easily build miniwebsites with WordPress. Finally, there are three easy ways to earn money with your site.

1. Sell some product that you can create yourself. If you have this ability and you want to allow people to buy your products with a credit card, the easiest way is to create a Paypal account. If you don’t have one, visit http://www.paypal.com and create one.

2. Join affiliate programs. Find people who sell products related to your market niche and who have affiliate programs already set up. You will earn commissions just by selling other people’s items. A good place to find affiliate programs on products is http://www.clickbank.com.

3. Google Adsense. Create an account at Google Adsense and include Google ads on your site. Every time someone visits your site and clicks one of those ads, Google will share its profit with you.

Creating small businesses is like a game. They do not require high investment, but they will not make you rich either. However, if you start playing many of those games, it can become a serious business.

Choosing What Products To Sell In Your Home Business

At niche websites we have many niche websites for sale already up and running with all the hard work done for you. For more free advice and information please visit http://niche-websites.info

You are thinking about starting an online business. The idea of working from home is very appealing to you. You want to do it but you don’t know what products to sell. Everyone who sells on the internet has approached this dilemma. So, how do you decide?

1) Brainstorm

The first step to choosing the right product is to sit down with pen and paper. Make sure that there are no distractions so that you can concentrate. Make two columns on your paper with these headings:

a) Enjoy
b) Passionate About

Put pen to paper and let your ideas flow. Try to list at least ten possibilities under each heading.

When your are done, look at your choices. Narrow your list down to three in each column. Now you are ready to see if these ideas might sell on the internet.

2) Niche Market

What is a “niche” in internet jargon? A “niche” is an item INSIDE a larger product arena. This is where many successful internet entrepreneurs have found their fortune.

Let’s consider PDAs. There are thousands of websites selling PDAs. A good “niche” product inside the PDA market could be the jackets that protect a PDA. How about computer headphones? Again, thousands of websites are selling this item. Why not focus on the audio splitter. This is the device that connects to the back of a computer for using two headphones at one time.

Take a look at your list. Can you see any “niches”?  If you can, you have found the product that you can sell inside your internet home business. The idea behind this concept is to have a laser focal point on a target audience.

The arrival of the internet has produced a world wide market for an assortment of products. Niche marketing can be very successful if you put in the time and effort to market your items correctly. There is a learning curve that you will have to conquer but if you are committed to success you can do it. Who knows? Your “niche” might be the next internet fad.

3) Selling What You Like Or What You Are Passionate About

Having a difficult time finding a niche inside your list? Sell a product that you like or that you are passionate about.

Re-vist your list. Take a look at your choices under “enjoy” and “passionate about”. Pick one that you think will sell on the internet. Do you BELIEVE that you can make money from this item (or service) in your home business? Do you think people will BENEFIT from this product (or service)?

Answer these questions: How well do you know the product (or service)? Can this product (or service) improve people’s lives?

Your knowledge and your passion could bring you the prosperity that you are looking for.  When you are ready to develop your marketing campaign, the main focus of your strategy should be to communicate your expertise and your fervor to your customers. If you can show your clients that your product (or service) can improve their lives, they will want to buy it.

4) Become An Expert

You have chosen your product, now what do you do? Become an authority! Make a commitment to be someone that your customers can trust. Make sure that you spend the time to know and understand every facet of what you are selling. The success of your work at home internet business depends upon it. More importantly, your clients depend upon you.

When you enter the marketing phase of your endeavor, purpose to give your customers reliable and accurate facts that they can trust.

As you refine your expertise, your understanding of your product is expanding as well. Communicate this to your customers. In time, you will know the information that your buyers want. As you satisfy this need, you are now building a relationship with your clients. If you are someone they can trust, you are someone that they will continue to do business with.
Brainstorm. Choose a product. Believe in your product. Communicate your conviction. Become an expert. Follow this formula and you will increase your chances for success in your work at home adventure.

“Before everything else, getting ready is the secret to success.”

What is a Niche Market Anyway?

July 6th, 2009

You are interested in starting a home-based business. You also want to use the Internet for your work-at-home idea. However, you are not sure if you can make money online. To make matters worse, you are confused about what home-based business opportunity to pursue.

If this sounds like you, rest assured that money can be made online with a home-based business. You don’t need to study for years until you can reap rewards. There are sound business concepts that have been taught and proven to be true by some of the most highly successful marketers in the world. What is the top sound principle that will ensure your success? It is choosing the right niche market.

You might be wondering what is a niche. A niche is simply a group of people with similar interests and needs. They are very passionate about their topic of interest. Think of a small pond packed with starving fish and you have the bait specific to their needs; they will like what you have to offer the best. This, in essence, is a niche.

Why a niche market? Well, unless you are a huge corporation with bottomless pockets, niche marketing is the way to go. You see most of the large corporations blow off niche markets because they are not trying to make an additional $1000 to $15000 per month like many home-based business entrepreneurs and other small business owners. They are seeking to make millions per month, which is good for you because you don’t have to compete with those companies that have massive marketing budgets.

It really is easy to find potential customers in niche markets. Here are some examples:

Motor Home Owners
Carpet Cleaner Business Owners
Restaurant Owners
Winter Camping Enthusiasts
Siamese Cat Owners
Dentists
Landscape Company Owners

You get the picture.

Before you decide which niche market to target for your home- based business, here are four important points to consider:

1. Is the market easily defined and reachable? Do you know where they hangout? What kind of trade journals or publications do they read? Do they have clubs or are members of particular organizations?

2. Is the market small enough that you will not have tons of competitors, but still large enough for you to make a good profit?

3. Does the market have the money to spend?

4. Does the group have an insane passion for their hobby or topic of interest? Do they eat, sleep, and breathe their hobby? Are they constantly seeking more information related to their subject? A great example of this would be golfers and NASCAR enthusiasts!

Doing research related to these questions will help you pick the perfect niche market for your home-based business.

As you think about starting a home-based business and what market to target, follow the above suggestions and you will be way ahead of many other home-based business opportunity seekers who want to start a work-at-home business.

1. Email (opt in)

If you’re not sending your own personal email newsletter you’re missing a huge opportunity.  I don’t care if you’re an employee of a Fortune 500 company or a self-employed consultant.  You MUST develop you own email newsletter.

An eZine will allow you to build your relationship, credibility and trust with the people that subscribe.   Provide them useful, unique and pertinent information and watch your sales skyrocket.

2. Pay-per-Click (PPC)

Pay-per-click or PPC ads are a very effective and cost efficient way to drive prospects to your website.  Whether it be a one-page sales letter or a “squeeze page” for them to sign up for your ezine, PPCs are an easy way for you to build awareness.

By using PPCs you can achieve laser like focus on your target market by using specific keywords.  Then run ads for only those keywords.  The benefit is when the prospect clicks on that ad they are not going to a general site with all kinds of garbage on it they are landing on your specific, targeted site.  Niche marketing at its best.

3. Customer Referrals

This is old school.  But if you’re not asking every single person you come into contact with, “Do you know of someone who may benefit from my services/product/whatever?” Then you don’t know what sales is all about.  Sorry but you don’t.

Sure, most of the time we won’t get a referral.  But all it takes is one to make it all worthwhile.  Imagine if you made one more sale a month.  What would that do to your income?  Well, that’s easy to attain no matter what industry you’re in.  If you just ask for referrals.

4. Ask Co-workers

Have you ever thought of asking a co-worker for a business referral?  Most people don’t. It’s amazing.  They think that since their co-worker works their they would have already talked to everyone they know about their company.

However, over 90% of non-sales employees have top quality prospects sitting in their brain.  You just need to ask them for the information.

5. Ask friends, family and neighbors

Same here.  Most people do not want to mix business with their personal life.  Get over it!  Your friends, family and neighbors have a keg of referrals.  They’re just waiting to be tapped.

6. Joint Ventures

Who do you know in your industry that is not a competitor but that calls on the same customers and/or companies as you?  Great!  Call them right now and ask them how you can build a mutually beneficial relationship together.

Remember, they’re going to ask, “What’s in it for me?”  Be prepared with a deal they can’t pass up.

7. Flyer Distribution

It doesn’t matter if you sell to consumers or businesses.  Design a compelling one-page flyer and hire a company or a high school kid to deliver them to your target area.  This is a great way to get quality leads for very cheap.  Try it.  I promise you’ll be surprised and impressed.

8. Postcards

This is one of my favorite, low cost ways to drive traffic to my websites.  The key is to use a simple, targeted message on your postcard.  No fancy graphics or fonts.  Simplicity is key here.

You can increase your response rate by up to 200% by using the simplicity formula.  The message should be in paragraph form and only 2-4 sentences.  If you can personalize it that’s even better.

9. Cold calling

Ah yes.  Good old fashioned cold calling.  You may not want to hear it or like doing it but you can’t argue with results.  When you do it right of course.

You need an effective plan, technique and outline to make it work best.  No cheesy scripts with canned responses.  You need to sound genuine, caring and be focused 100% on the prospect.  If you can change your mindset into one that you are simply talking to a good friend you will experience tremendous results.

8 steps to higher search engine rankings

Interested in getting your website in the top 10?  You are not alone!

The world wide web is a great way to gain exposure in whatever you do. Having a website gives you the ability to have publicity and to be seen by people from all over the world.

Just having a website does not get you instant recognition.  It is earned by strategically marketing your business and website.  Remember, by putting up a website you are immediately entering yourself into a competition. The World Wide Web has become so saturated with websites, it’s nearly impossible to be noticed… unless you have a plan.

The easiest way to be found on the web is to be listed in the search engines, such as Google or Yahoo.  You can easily do this by paying to be seen by using Google Adwords or Yahoo Marketing.   This can be effective, but expensive.

Ultimately, you want to have your website to show up naturally on the front page of the search engines.  Follow these 8 simple steps towards optimizing your website and you will see a positive difference in your website ranking.

1.  Comprise a list of search terms you want people to find your site with.  For starters, this should be 3-5 word search strings.  i.e. McDowell Mountain Ranch Real Estate or Toledo Organic Dry Cleaners.  Something that is specific to your business or hobby.

2.  Load your website with original content.  Take the time to write the information in your own words.  Search engines will not give you credit for someone else’s work.

3.   Add the key words from item 1 to your content on several different pages of your website.  For example, it is better to have 500 pages with your key words listed once than to have 1 page with your keywords 500 times.

4.    Know your target market.  Write content that will interest them and bring them back for more.

5.   Add fresh content daily or as often as possible.  Ideas to keep your site fresh include blogging, writing articles, interviewing people, and adding polls or RSS feeds.

6.   Keep your site for an extended period of time.  There are many sites that come and go on the world wide web.  The longer your site is around, the higher the search engines will rank you.

7.  Drive people to your website by sending out flyers, sending out mailers, emails, writing articles, blogging, linking to other sites and gaining as much exposure as possible.

8.  Submit your site to the search engines on a monthly basis.  There are many search engine submission websites. Some are free and others charge a fee.  Google “search engine submissions” to find one you like. Either way, you must submit to the search engines or your site will not be seen.

As your site ages and gets more information, you will see a higher ranking for your website.  This does not happen overnight, but by consistently adding information, you will create a website that provides value to the end user.  And ultimately, that is what the search engines are looking for… Providing good information that the end user wants.

To see an example of a relatively young site, 9 months old, that is getting great recognition -   It is loaded with information that the end users love.  The owner has added information on a regular basis and before long, it was loaded with useful information that the consumer loves.

Website are fun to own, work on and benefit from.  However, they can take a substantial amount of time.  Have a strategy and work your strategy.  You will see the best results and have the most satisfaction with your website.  Enjoy!
